Alternative Airlines, a U.K.-based online travel agency working with over 600 airlines, needed to break into the U.S. market by offering a niche payment product to make booking travel more convenient. To do that it partnered with Affirm to add pay-over-time installment options (including promotional 0% APR offers) so U.S. customers could buy flights quickly, affordably, and with greater flexibility.
Alternative Airlines integrated Affirm quickly and ran holiday/January 0% APR promotions and targeted emails with Affirm’s support. As a result, Alternative Airlines achieved a 43% increase in average order value with Affirm, a 6% repurchase rate, customers from the Affirm app converting three times higher than non‑Affirm platform customers, and a 12% uplift in overall bookings driven by Affirm app traffic.
