Peloton, the connected fitness company that sells high-end at-home bikes and subscription classes, faced a growth challenge: as it expanded beyond affluent early adopters, many potential customers were hesitant to pay the full up-front cost. To reach a broader, mass-market audience Peloton partnered with Affirm, offering Affirm’s 0% APR financing as an alternate way to pay.
Affirm’s 0% APR financing was integrated into Peloton’s checkout, and the results were measurable and immediate: a 16% lift in revenue per visitor, a 15% increase in conversion, and a 30% increase in share of cart. Affirm-powered purchases now account for close to 30% of Peloton’s monthly online sales (up from 15% at launch), helping Peloton “sell bikes that might never have otherwise been purchased.”
