Bugaboo, the premium stroller and baby gear maker, wanted to make its higher-end products more attainable without lowering prices or increasing risk for customers. To reduce checkout friction and offer flexible payment options, Bugaboo added Affirm’s pay-over-time solution to its website in 2020, integrating easily with its Adyen payments setup.
Affirm’s financing and 0% APR promotions expanded cart sizes and attracted more middle-income and millennial buyers: AOV for Affirm purchases was 260% higher than non-Affirm sales (a 21% quarter-over-quarter increase), and 45% of Affirm sales used 0% APR offers. The strong performance prompted Bugaboo to reforecast annual targets and credited Affirm with making premium strollers easier and lower-risk to buy.
