TrueCar - Customer Case Study

TrueCar, the negotiation-free car buying and selling marketplace, wanted to create a new kind of live concert experience for the 2016 Santa Monica Pier Twilight Concert Series. Working with Affectiva, TrueCar built the TrueCar L.E.D. experience, which used emotion data from concertgoers to turn crowd sentiment into an interactive light show.

Affectiva powered a custom mobile site that analyzed facial expressions in real time and categorized emotions into 18 types, feeding the results into a display with more than 70,000 LED lights. The installation also responded to crowd density, audio, and gestures, creating a living visual representation of the audience and transforming participation at the concerts.
