Little Dragon, an AI-powered learning app developed by Artha Ltd., wanted to make learning more enjoyable and effective by understanding how students feel during lessons. To do that, it needed a way to sense learner engagement and respond in real time, and it chose Affectiva’s Emotion SDK to help power that experience.

Affectiva’s SDK was integrated into Little Dragon to detect facial expressions, body movements, and a student’s position relative to the screen, allowing the app to infer emotions and adapt lessons accordingly. Field trials in rural China showed that children respond well to being seen and having their achievements recognized, and the company expects the approach to drive higher engagement with continuously adjusted, personalized lessons.
