A Affectiva Case Study
eBuzzing, a video advertising network, wanted to understand which content sparked the strongest viewer emotions and which feelings made an ad go viral. It used Affectiva’s Affdex for Market Research and Emotion Analytics Dashboard to analyze spontaneous facial reactions and emotional responses to 40 viral YouTube ads.
Affectiva helped eBuzzing gather insights from over 2,600 participants and identify what drives shareability, enabling advertisers to optimize viral campaigns. The study showed that emotional ads were 4x more likely to be shared, smile-inducing video ads were nearly 5x more likely to surpass 10 million views, and smart brand reveals doubled attention; Affectiva’s normative database even helped predict viral hits like Evian’s Baby & Me.
