x+1 is a cloud-based marketing-technology company whose Origin platform combines a DMP, a patented real-time decision engine and multi‑channel execution to deliver personalized interactions. The company faced a critical challenge: deliver real-time, high-value audience targeting on client web pages with zero tolerance for timeouts or degraded performance during peak loads and infrastructure events.

x+1 deployed the Aerospike NoSQL real-time database across four U.S. data centers (SSD-backed clusters) to power its decision engine. The solution reliably manages ~4 TB and billions of profiles/records, analyzes thousands of attributes in ~4 ms, returns 10 personalized options in under 50 ms, scales to billions of key values with no performance loss, maintains continuous uptime during rebalancing, and lowers server costs.
