Adobe needed a way to unify technology inherited from more than 10 acquisitions into a single platform for real-time personalization at the edge. Its earlier stack, which included Cassandra, HBase, and an in-memory PostgreSQL database, was expensive to maintain, siloed, and difficult to consolidate while still supporting low-latency, high-throughput profile data processing for Adobe Experience Cloud. Aerospike was chosen as the backbone for edge computation.

Aerospike implemented a common edge compute system that centralized fragmented data, enabled real-time targeting and segmentation, and supported AI/ML-driven personalization with low latency. The results included a 3x cost reduction and a 50% smaller server footprint, while giving Adobe a unified, high-performance platform for delivering personalized digital experiences.
