Adform Scales to Meet Real-Time Demand and Cuts Server Requirements in Half

Adform, a Denmark‑based ad tech company that powers programmatic display, rich media and video across devices, needed to scale its real‑time trading and dynamic creative engines as demand doubled. Its Cassandra-based architecture required a large, costly server footprint and could not deliver the predictable, low latency performance Adform needed for real‑time bidding and personalization.

Adform migrated those real‑time workloads to the Aerospike in‑memory NoSQL database (RAM indexes with SSD storage) running on bare metal across two data centers. The new platform serves a few hundred thousand requests per second, handles more than 200,000 ops/sec at under 1 ms latency, and cut Cassandra server requirements roughly in half—reducing costs while delivering the predictable, ultra‑low latency needed for bidding, DMP, ID mapping and dynamic creative optimization.
