Adfonic processes 100 billion global ad impressions each month

Adfonic is a London-based mobile advertising platform that processes more than 100 billion ad impressions a month and serves ads to hundreds of millions of mobile users. When launching its Madison demand‑side platform (RTB) the company needed predictable, real‑time performance—responses within 5 milliseconds at very high request rates—and found traditional SQL and many NoSQL/KVS options couldn’t meet its latency, scalability or reliability requirements.

Adfonic deployed Aerospike’s real‑time NoSQL across a central hub and three data centers, using automated TTL (Evictor), cross‑data‑center replication and self‑managing clusters on standard hardware. The implementation delivered sub‑millisecond to consistently under‑5ms responses while scaling to 100,000 QPS per cluster, enabled real‑time processing of 100+ billion impressions per month, and provided high availability with simplified operations.
