Syracuse University faced a challenge meeting stringent energy efficiency requirements for a new graduate law student dormitory. To qualify for a significant rebate from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the building's duct system needed to have 10 CFM or less of air leakage, a standard that exceeded typical construction practices. The university's contractor turned to Aeroseal for a solution.

Aeroseal's duct sealing technology was implemented, successfully reducing the average leakage from 120 CFM down to the required 10 CFM or less. This result allowed the project to qualify for the NYSERDA rebate and was described as a game-changer, with the contractor noting it was the only viable solution to meet the tough energy conservation standards.
