SURMOTECH expands manufacturing capability with a comprehensive traceability and quality management system

Surmotech Inc., a Victor, New York–based electronic contract manufacturer, faced a customer requirement for complete product, materials and process traceability on a highly complex PCBA without sacrificing throughput. Having used AEGIS NPI for process development, Surmotech engaged Aegis Software to expand into the AEGIS MOS manufacturing operations system to manage machine setup, component/unit tracking and data collection across its production floor.

Aegis Software implemented AEGIS MOS as a modular, scalable upgrade that integrated existing JUKI SMT lines, YESTECH AOI and test systems to provide route enforcement, AOI/test metrics, rework history and board-level component traceability. Launched within eight weeks, the solution automated WIP control, eliminated 15 hours/week of report generation, cut customer inquiry response time from hours to minutes, and delivered real-time dashboards and yield reporting—enabling full traceability and measurable quality and throughput improvements for Surmotech Inc.
