How one automotive electronics company is improving manufacturing processes by using Aegis MES software

Lear Corporation’s Shanghai subsidiary, Lear Automotive Electronics and Electrical Products (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., faced complex automotive-electronics manufacturing challenges: they needed to eliminate rework, shorten new product introduction (NPI) time, and establish full traceability to meet stringent customer audits and safety requirements. To address this, Lear selected Aegis Software’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software.

Aegis Software deployed its CAD-aware, highly configurable MES to merge BOM and CAD data, automate NPI, enforce process interlocks, provide CAD-based visual rework and routing, and deliver real-time shop-floor dashboards. The Aegis solution cut NPI from 24 to 6 hours, reduced rework/debug time by 50% and assembly rework by 28%, increased OEE and productivity by 10%, and enabled Lear Shanghai to pass final audits from all customers.
