A AEB Case Study
GEA Westfalia Separator Group, a global machinery and engineering company, needed to modernize its logistics software to support worldwide machine and spare parts shipments. Its SAP-based in-house logistics solution had become difficult to maintain and inflexible, while manual packing data entry for international shipments was time-consuming and error-prone. GEA turned to AEB, using Carrier Connect and the Transport Management System to improve efficiency and simplify export processes.
AEB implemented a hosted logistics platform that let packing data be entered directly online, integrated spare parts warehouses in Cologne and Singapore, and separated ERP from logistics for better collaboration with carriers and more stable foreign trade handling. The result was greater process transparency, higher data quality, faster customs clearance, and easier shipment tracking through electronic Proof of Delivery. GEA also reduced freight costs by consolidating shipments and reserving capacity earlier, while saving employees time by eliminating manual tracking tasks.
