Aesculap, part of the B. Braun Group and a global leader in surgical instruments and medical technology, needed a more flexible shipping process for its new high-tech logistics center in Tuttlingen. Handling up to 2,500 shipments a day in SAP®—from individual instruments to complex project shipments and large hospital or military deliveries—required a logistics solution that could handle multiple packing stations, custom delivery requirements, and seamless connections to carriers and customs authorities. AEB provided the integrated Shipping and Export Filing solution.
With AEB’s fully SAP®-integrated Shipping and Export Filing software, Aesculap automated packaging, label and delivery note printing, and export declarations via Germany’s ATLAS customs system directly from SAP®. The result was standardized global shipping with local flexibility, electronic carrier connectivity, same-day shipping for orders received by 4:30 p.m., and a very low error rate of just 0.14%.
