Degen Arcade launches the first NFT-powered claw machine with AE Studio

Degen Arcade, a company founded by Jeremy Penn, Daniel Swerdloff, and Tony Herrera, faced the challenge of creating the first NFT-powered claw machine to bridge physical arcade gameplay with on-chain digital rewards. Nothing like it had been built before, requiring a solution that could integrate custom hardware and firmware with a blockchain backend to trigger NFT mints from real-world wins, all while making the Web3 experience accessible to casual players in a fast, high-traffic arcade environment. They partnered with AE Studio to solve this technically ambitious problem.

AE Studio designed and built an end-to-end solution, integrating a physically modified claw machine with custom firmware and a Polygon-based smart contract system. This allowed the machine to detect wins and instantly mint unique NFT collectibles to a player's connected wallet. The result was the successful delivery of the world's first NFT-powered claw machine, which generated strong community attention and provided Degen Arcade with a modular, reusable platform foundation for future expansion into other arcade and vending experiences.
