A Adyen Case Study
Moss Bros, a UK formal menswear brand founded in 1851, set out in 2013 to expand its digital footprint and revenue across desktop, mobile and in-store channels. Its existing payments provider couldn’t support the global reach, local payment methods or omni-channel functionality required for the website relaunch and international growth, so the company sought a new payments platform.
Moss Bros chose Adyen as gateway and acquirer, enabling local payment methods and a single back office. The rollout tripled onsite conversion and drove 209% UK online revenue growth in year one, supported an international e‑commerce push (Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Australia) that delivered ~6% of sales within months and saw ~2/3 of Netherlands sales via iDEAL. Additional measures—disabling 3D Secure in some markets—increased conversion up to 20%; a mobile one‑click flow now accounts for 10% of online sales; and a tablet-assisted mPOS rollout in 10 stores lets customers buy out-of-stock items for delivery immediately.
