A Adyen Case Study
ofo, the station-free bike-sharing pioneer founded in 2014, is scaling quickly from China into markets worldwide and faced a payments challenge: enable seamless, secure cross-border transactions so riders can pay in local currencies and with preferred local methods while traveling. As ofo moves into new countries and cities, it needed a unified payment experience to support rapid global expansion.
ofo partnered with Adyen to give customers one set of payment credentials usable anywhere ofo operates, simplifying and securing in‑app payments and enabling local-currency processing and local payment methods. The integration supports ofo’s aggressive growth—today processing about 25 million transactions daily across 6.5 million bikes, with plans to reach 20 million bikes in 200 cities (20 countries)—and helps deliver effortless, cross-border rides for users.
