A AdviserPlus Case Study
Post Office, the UK’s largest retail network, was facing a growing absence challenge among its nearly 5,000 employees, including a sharp rise in mental health-related absence that was costing around £1.5m a year. Although it already used AdviserPlus through its MyHR Help employee relations advice line, managers were not consistently raising cases, meaning issues were not being managed early enough.
AdviserPlus worked with Post Office to expand its support with line manager mental health training, a proactive advice line, MI and visual analytics, and an HR knowledge portal. This helped managers intervene earlier, identify more mental health cases, and reduce average mental health absence duration by 25%, while also increasing occupational health referrals and delivering productivity savings of over £500,000 for Post Office.
