Transport for NSW needed to improve visibility, efficiency, and accountability across Port Botany’s landside container supply chain. Poor truck turnaround performance, long queues, and inconsistent service were creating costly delays for carriers and cargo owners. Transport for NSW worked with Advent Intermodal Solutions, using its Port Community System and related performance management capabilities to support the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS).

Advent Intermodal Solutions implemented an integrated platform with RFID-based truck tracking, performance metrics, invoicing controls, rail operations management, and a mobile app for live and historical data. The solution enabled near-real-time monitoring of truck queues, turnaround times, and terminal performance, while supporting reciprocal financial penalties for missed standards. As a result, Transport for NSW gained better operational transparency and incident management, with 25 RFID readers installed across the port complex and a more efficient, data-driven landside supply chain.
