The Port of Seattle worked with Advent Intermodal Solutions, using the eModal Drayage Truck Registry (DTR), to support its clean truck program and verify that only compliant drayage trucks could enter the port complex. The challenge was to manage truck registration and emissions compliance across a busy port environment while meeting the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy goals.
Advent Intermodal Solutions implemented eModal DTR to capture and validate truck details, issue “Green Gateway” stickers for compliant vehicles, and later integrate RFID tag distribution and management across the U.S. West Coast. Since going live in 2010, the program has registered more than 5,900 trucks and 1,100 trucking companies/truck owners, while reducing duplicate data management and improving efficiency for trucking companies serving the Port of Seattle.
