Speed Control System at Nice
Nice Airport, with ground handlers supporting day-to-day operations, faced a major safety challenge in baggage galleries: excessive GSE speed and unsafe driving behaviors were contributing to worker injuries, vehicle wear, and infrastructure damage. To address this, the airport partnered with ADVEEZ and its Speed Control System for GSE.
ADVEEZ deployed modules on 85 vehicles, connected to 12 beacons installed on airport infrastructure across Terminal 1, Terminal 2.1, and Terminal 2.2. The system automatically slows equipment to 5 km/h in baggage gallery slowdown areas and restores normal speed outside them, helping reduce accidents, interruptions, repair and insurance costs, while improving worker safety and passenger flow. The solution became part of Nice Airport’s internal regulations and was planned for inclusion in the Terminal 2.3 extension.
