Duke University Prioritizes Advarra eReg’s Site-Centric Workflows within a Connected Research Ecosystem

Duke University, a leading academic medical center and one of the nation’s largest biomedical research enterprises, faced mounting administrative burden as sponsors and CROs required sites to use multiple, disconnected clinical research technologies. These duplicative workflows and imposed processes hindered study startup and day-to-day operations for high‑volume site staff, so Duke’s School of Medicine implemented the Advarra eRegulatory Management System (Advarra eReg) in 2019 to improve connectivity, support remote monitoring, and ensure a site voice in product development.

Advarra’s eReg solution centralized regulatory materials and enabled more efficient collaboration: to date Duke has managed over 100,000 protocol‑related documents (102,125+ noted), collected 34,624 electronic signatures, and facilitated 732 remote monitoring sessions through Advarra eReg, delivering measurable operational efficiencies and reducing duplicative work. Duke continues to partner with Advarra via community forums and collaboration groups to inform multi‑site functionality and further streamline site‑sponsor integration.
