A Advantive Case Study
SanDisk, a leader in flash memory storage, faced the challenge of ensuring consistent quality control across its complex manufacturing operations. Their existing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) lacked the ability to perform granular, real-time data analysis needed to predict and prevent quality issues. To close this loop, SanDisk partnered with vendor Advantive and implemented its InfinityQS ProFicient SPC software to integrate with their existing systems.
The solution from Advantive provided an automated, closed-loop system that collected and analyzed real-time process data. It automatically triggered alarms, placed holds on production lots, and created quality incidents, enabling engineers to address potential problems before defective products were made. This integration saved SanDisk significant time and resources that would have been spent on a custom-built solution. A regional CIO confirmed the implementation provided a rapid return on investment and resolved previously unidentified issues, leading to a more responsive and effective production environment.
