YCM Turns to Advantech to Co-Create a CNC Management Solution for Intelligent Metal Manufacturing

Yeong Chin Machinery Industries (YCM), a machine tool manufacturer in greater China with over six decades of experience, needed a ready-to-use CNC management solution to address industry challenges such as non‑standardized machine interfaces, low equipment intelligence, poor informatization, and rising market competition. To accelerate its Industry 4.0 transition, YCM turned to Advantech and its CNC Machine Management Solution—the M2I/CNC SRP—leveraging Advantech’s WISE‑PaaS platform and CNC Edge hardware.

Advantech implemented the M2I/CNC SRP (with WebAccess/CNC, Generic Cloud Service on WISE‑PaaS, and CNC Edge ESRP‑CNC‑UNO1372) to integrate machine‑to‑cloud data acquisition and web dashboards for OEE, performance, and event history. The solution gave YCM real‑time visibility to identify bottlenecks, minimize downtime through proactive maintenance forecasting, and improve productivity; it also significantly reduced development time and costs and produced measurable operational cost reductions in a recent metal‑processing order, enabling faster time‑to‑market.
