Upgrading from Manual Transcription to Real-time Monitoring with Advantech’s Industry 4.0 Capabilities

Ching Luh Group, a leading sports footwear manufacturer with plants in China, Vietnam and Indonesia, faced the challenge of replacing slow, error-prone manual transcription and a patchwork of non-integrated systems to collect real-time production data. To modernize its factory floor and build a practical ICT management platform, Ching Luh turned to Advantech and deployed its process visualization solution, leveraging the iFactory SRP and related automation components.

Advantech implemented a real-time manufacturing visibility system using iFactory SRP with WebAccess/SCADA, embedded automation, and WISE wireless I/O modules (and supporting EKI devices), which drastically reduced development time and shortened implementation schedules. Within a year the solution substantially increased production and management efficiencies by replacing manual data recording with clearly visualized machine status, enabling faster productivity analysis, foresight to prevent downtime and defects, and measurable time and cost savings for cross-plant decision-making.
