A Advantech Case Study
South America Bus Company, one of the region’s largest operators with an estimated six thousand buses serving 150 million people annually, needed a full-scale upgrade for on-board ticketing and intelligent fleet management to support its expansion. They required rugged, long-life in-vehicle systems with wide-temperature and anti-vibration design, 3G/LTE and GPS connectivity, real-time vehicle and engine monitoring, and fast 24/7 local support — and engaged Advantech to deliver the solution (notably the ARK-2250V and Advantech’s WISE-PaaS software).
Advantech deployed its ARK-2250V fanless in-vehicle computers (with ignition power management, wide DC input, shock/vibration certification, camera ports and GPS/3G/LTE support) together with WISE-PaaS/RMM and WISE-PaaS/Security for remote monitoring and protection. The implementation enabled real-time GPS fleet tracking, ticketing integration, vehicle-health monitoring (fuel, temperature, speed) and automatic detection of deviations (route changes, speeding, idling), delivering scalable operational visibility and faster incident response across the South America Bus Company’s fleet.
