Telecom Service Provider - Customer Case Study

Telecom Service Provider sought carrier-grade cloud infrastructure to address public‑cloud concerns around performance, QoS and security while needing greater scalability, efficiency and ease of service packaging. Advantech provided an AdvancedTCA-based solution centered on its MIC-5332 dual Intel Xeon E5‑2600 processor blade and integrated 40GE switches/chassis to meet those carrier cloud requirements.

Advantech’s deployment combined MIC-5332 blades (up to 16 cores/32 threads and up to 256 GB memory per blade), 40GE backplanes and modular ATCA chassis to deliver higher compute and network density, improved virtualization and carrier‑grade availability. The result was the same performance density in a 14U footprint versus a typical 26U rack, faster I/O and memory throughput, easier blade-based scaling and measurable gains in rack utilization, CAPEX/OPEX efficiency and QoS for the Telecom Service Provider.
