A Advantech Case Study
SISDEF, a leading Chilean supplier of integrated communication and command/control systems for national defense, faced the challenge of delivering error-free, continuously connected communications across naval ships, vehicles and command centers while recording and replaying voice traffic from diverse radios and networks. To meet stringent military standards for vibration, temperature and electromagnetic tolerance, SISDEF integrated Advantech’s TREK-753 Mobile Data Terminal as the core remote device in its ICS-DAS solution.
Advantech’s TREK-753 provided a rugged, -30 to 60 °C, wide-voltage MDT (6–36V) meeting IP54, MIL‑STD‑810, ISO 7637‑2 and SAE J1113 requirements, improving system stability and MTBF for ICS-DAS. More than 20 TREK-753 units have been deployed with no reported malfunctions in a year, enabling SISDEF to win adoption by Chilean and Colombian governments, reduce costs through better component selection, boost system efficiency and increase customer satisfaction and market demand.
