A Advantech Case Study
SetiBT, a Brazilian specialist IT services provider, was engaged by a large bulk fuel and lubricant transportation company to solve theft, fraud and inefficiency in long‑distance on‑site refueling. The customer needed an in‑vehicle system to automatically identify equipment, enforce pre‑authorized fuel volumes, and synchronize transfers with vehicle horometer, odometer and GPS to improve accuracy and reduce manual errors.
SetiBT implemented a solution built around Advantech TREK-723 RISC‑based mobile data terminals (TREK‑722/723 series) integrated with flow meters, RFID and SetiBT’s custom fueling software; Advantech supplied the rugged hardware and integration support. The system restricts transfers to sanctioned equipment, logs exact fuel volumes and integrates with customer ERP for reporting, delivering up to 2% savings of the millions of liters consumed annually and a rapid payback for the operator.
