Remote Wireless Management for the Guangde Proving Ground that Simulates 70 Pavements and Offers 60 Kilometers of Road Testing

Leading Automobile Company faced the challenge of efficiently and safely validating vehicles across the massive Guangde Proving Ground — a 5.67 km2 test site that simulates 70 pavement types and about 60 km of road — where dispersed equipment, extreme environmental conditions, high labor and energy costs, and complex data collection made testing slow and costly. Advantech was engaged to provide an IIoT upgrade using its EIS-D150 edge data acquisition units, WISE-PaaS cloud software, and BB-SL306 routers to meet requirements for fan-less, wide-temperature computing, reliable LTE data transmission, and real-time web-based monitoring.

Advantech implemented an end-to-end solution: EIS-D150 units at test devices for edge processing, BB-SL306 routers for secure LTE/video uplink, and WISE-PaaS plus a custom web GUI for cloud aggregation and visualization. The deployment enabled real-time monitoring, historical data plus synchronized video analysis, timely processing and predictive equipment maintenance, and reduced management and energy costs while improving automation and the reliability of vehicle test results — with customers praising Advantech’s BB-SL306 for stable transmission and strong data security.
