Lower Power & THIN Mini-ITX Design for CNC-HMI

CNC Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of CNC routers, needed a reliable, low‑power motherboard for a panel/software HMI to improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime in continuously running production lines. The customer required remote monitoring and an API to collect system data (CPU temperature, fan speed) for failure prediction and analysis, so they selected Advantech’s AIMB-215 as the HMI solution.

Advantech implemented the AIMB-215 THIN Mini‑ITX motherboard (Intel® Celeron® J1900) with a fanless, low‑profile design, SUSI API support for Linux, dual independent display outputs, and two Mini‑PCIe sockets for mSATA or wireless connectivity. The Advantech solution enabled compact integration (40–45% reduction in height; <22 mm), low power continuous operation, remote system monitoring for predictive maintenance, and improved operational efficiency with reduced downtime.
