Kapsch - Customer Case Study

Kapsch CarrierCom (Kapsch) faced the challenge of modernizing branch-office networking for communications service providers by replacing multiple dedicated CPE devices with a single, carrier-grade, Intel-compatible universal CPE. To meet requirements for small to large sites, long lifecycle/MTBF, and broad VNF compatibility, Kapsch selected Advantech and its Intel-powered FWA series white‑box uCPE platforms (FWA-1010VC, FWA-1012VC, FWA-2320, FWA-2012).

Advantech supplied the scalable uCPE hardware which Kapsch integrated with a VNF ecosystem (VeloCloud SD‑WAN, Fortinet security, OneAccess OVP) and Cloudify orchestration; the solution was validated for multitenancy, high availability, and SD‑WAN continuity. Using Advantech uCPEs reduced the number of physical CPE devices and operational costs, improved performance and service agility, and enabled on‑the‑fly updates and new revenue‑generating, personalized services for CommSP customers.
