A Advantech Case Study
The University of Indonesia needed a cost‑effective way to cut energy use in a five‑floor, 22‑classroom building while integrating with its existing class booking system to control lighting and air conditioning by schedule. Advantech provided the solution, deploying WebAccess (WebAccess 8.0) on an IPC‑7220 industrial PC as the SCADA and scheduling platform to meet the university’s integration and real‑time monitoring requirements.
Advantech implemented a complete BAS using WebAccess with an IPC‑7220, EKI‑3528 switch, ADAM‑5510/TCP controller and ADAM‑5056S/5051S I/O modules plus IR controllers and a power meter to enable scheduled on/off control, real‑time monitoring and centralized dashboards. The Advantech system automated AC and light control tied to the booking system, provided HTML5 dashboards and scheduled reports (daily/weekly/monthly) to quantify power consumption, and delivered measurable energy savings and lower operating costs through better scheduling and remote management.
