iBuildings needed to turn disparate building systems (lighting, HVAC, power, sensors, access control, etc.) that used different interfaces, control logic, and communication methods into a single intelligent, cloud-connected platform. To address this integration challenge they engaged Advantech, using the ARK-2121L IoT gateway with iDoor I/O modules and the WISE‑PaaS/RMM software suite to connect legacy equipment and standardize data flows.

Advantech delivered the ARK‑2121L gateway populated with selectable iDoor modules to interface with existing devices, and deployed WISE‑agent and WISE‑PaaS/RMM to convert device data to MQTT, provide 100+ RESTful APIs and dashboard building tools, and enable cloud access. The solution centralized monitoring and control (enabling automated HVAC, scheduled lighting for energy savings, and CO2/PM2.5 monitoring), pushed building data to the cloud for analytics, and produced a reusable IoT framework that reduced programming effort and sped time‑to‑market — demonstrating Advantech’s ability to accelerate integration and lower deployment costs.
