IBCON Leverages Advantech’s WebAccess Solution to Build a Factory Equipment Monitoring System

IBCON, a Thailand-based automation systems supplier with over 20 years’ experience, faced the challenge of replacing manual machine-status checks with an automatic, easy-to-deploy equipment monitoring system that required minimal wiring and a compact gateway. To shorten development time they sought an off-the-shelf SCADA-ready platform; they turned to Advantech’s WebAccess/SCADA and accompanying hardware to meet these constraints.

Advantech supplied WISE-4050 wireless I/O modules, the UNO-2473G industrial computer, and WebAccess/SCADA software to collect indicator-light signals wirelessly, aggregate data at the UNO gateway, and provide remote, browser-based monitoring with real-time alarms and reporting (WebAccess supports up to 1,024 clients). The solution eliminated extensive cabling, reduced installation footprint, enabled automatic data collection and centralized management, and has already been adopted by a major automobile manufacturer and a leading tire manufacturer—both reporting high satisfaction and plans to continue using IBCON’s Advantech-based system.
