Highway Management Company operates the 58.4 km Langzhuo Expressway in Hebei, China, where fragmented development left video surveillance, power monitoring and equipment systems running as separate silos—requiring many operators and driving up management costs. Advantech delivered a centralized monitoring and management solution using industrial networking products (EKI-9628G-4CI Layer 3 switch, EKI-7710G-2CI Layer 2 switch and EKI-1521CI serial device server) designed to meet wide temperature and harsh-environment requirements.

Advantech implemented a VLAN-based architecture with a Layer 3 core and X-ring redundant Layer 2 switches to separate video, control and management traffic, enabling centralized oversight across the distributed network. The Advantech solution ensured multicast video delivery with IGMP snooping, reliable operation in tunnels and extreme conditions, and reduced the need for multiple system operators—streamlining network management and lowering operational costs while improving video transmission stability and performance.
