Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport faced increasing equipment aging and failures that threatened the efficiency and safety of critical ground systems—especially passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) that require real‑time monitoring and rapid fault identification. To modernize its PBB monitoring and meet strict reliability and zero‑packet‑loss requirements, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport partnered with Advantech, deploying Advantech’s Industrial Ethernet solutions including EKI‑1524CI/EKI‑1522CI serial device servers and EKI‑7710E‑2CI / EKI‑S5281 switches to convert PLC data to TCP/IP and support an intelligent scheduling and monitoring system.

Advantech’s solution used serial device servers, redundant X‑Ring switches with IXM for rapid deployment, and WebAccess/NMS visualization to provide real‑time monitoring, early warnings, and fast fault isolation.
