Flexible Modules Enable Real-time Video for Ambulance Telemedicine

Ambulance Based Telemedicine Company needed a way to deliver real-time video conferencing and transmit diverse medical imaging and vital-sign data from moving ambulances to hospital physicians. Their challenge was integrating nonstandard medical video inputs, ensuring reliable wireless (3G/4G) streaming, and meeting in-vehicle ruggedness requirements. They worked with Advantech, leveraging the ARK-2250L modular fanless box PC plus MOS-4140H video iDoor, interchangeable iDoor and ARK Plus modules, and the WISE‑PaaS/SDK software platform.

Advantech deployed the ARK-2250L with MOS-4140H HDMI input and flexible iDoor/ARK Plus module combinations, providing multi-display support, real-time video processing, embedded 3G/4G, and a wide-voltage, fanless design for harsh vehicle environments. The solution enabled reliable ambulance-to-hospital video and telemetry, reduced customization time from months to weeks, and delivered the processing and connectivity needed to accelerate prehospital triage and treatment.
