European Toy Manufacturing Company built a new multi-building campus and needed 24/7 IP video surveillance, but faced two problems: the campus backbone was multi-mode fiber while outdoor cameras had 100 Mbps copper interfaces, and many cameras were far from power outlets. The customer required rugged equipment with extended temperature specs and the ability to observe and report faults remotely. Advantech deployed the B+B PoE+ Giga-MiniMc with LFPT, a compact media converter with two 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE ports (up to 25 W per port) and a hot‑swappable SFP supporting 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps, eliminating the need to run dedicated power lines to cameras and future‑proofing bandwidth. Built-in LFPT and PoE Reset diagnostics give centralized fault reporting and remote reset capability, and the unit’s 0 to +70° C rating and simple unmanaged design made installation straightforward.
