A Advantech Case Study
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), one of the world’s busiest airports, faced aging infrastructure and rising passenger volumes that strained its surveillance and Wi‑Fi systems during Terminal 2 upgrades. To maintain high standards for safety, efficiency, and passenger service, HKIA engaged Advantech to design a robust networking solution and selected Advantech’s PoE+ Giga‑MiniMc media converters to support the remodel.
Advantech deployed PoE+ Giga‑MiniMc media converters (SFP optical port, two Gbps-level PoE ports, IEEE 802.3at support) to power high-resolution cameras and Wi‑Fi access points with compact, flexible mounting options; the solution passed field tests and was rolled out across Terminal 2. Advantech’s implementation delivered secure, stable network transmission, significantly reduced downtime for surveillance and Wi‑Fi systems, and lowered cable maintenance costs—helping HKIA sustain its service quality and operational reliability.
