Leading Industrial Automation Solution Provider needed a flexible, multi-axis Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system for automobile assembly lines to replace slow manual checks and inspect parts from many angles. Advantech delivered the core hardware and software platform—including the ARK-3520L automation computer, PCIE-1674E and PCIE-1672E camera cards, plus WebAccess/SCADA and WISE-PaaS/RMM—to meet the extreme performance, stability and motion requirements in harsh, dusty factory environments.

Advantech’s solution combined a fanless, modular ARK-3520L with PoE-capable PCIe camera cards to enable fast, synchronous image capture without separate power wiring, and modular I/O (iDoor/ARK-Plus) for easy customization. The deployment improved inspection speed and accuracy, reduced the need for manual checks, simplified integration and customization (lowering NRE and compatibility issues), and added real-time monitoring and remote device management through Advantech’s WebAccess/SCADA and WISE-PaaS/RMM.
