CYAN Intelligent Utilizes WebAccess/SCADA to Build a Data Acquisition and Remote Management Platform for a Wafer Probing Factory

CYAN Intelligent, acting as system integrator and a VIP member of Advantech’s WISE‑PaaS Alliance, was engaged to help a Taiwan wafer probing factory overcome data‑acquisition barriers. The factory’s OMRON controllers (with up to 30 production steps) produced data that could not be imported into the SQL Server database and were centralized on a single PC, preventing process analysis and broad access. CYAN Intelligent chose Advantech’s WebAccess/SCADA to address these issues.

Using Advantech WebAccess/SCADA, CYAN Intelligent connected the OMRON controllers to a server, leveraged the platform’s 200+ drivers and ODBC support to import device data into SQL Server, and deployed a 100% web‑based, role‑based access system. The factory can now query production records across R&D, production and facilities from any device, protect data by job‑rank permissions, and accelerate GUI/report development with Dashboard, TelScript and Widget Builder. Advantech’s solution resolved the data‑acquisition bottleneck, enabled remote management and process analysis, and scales to larger deployments (WebAccess/SCADA Professional supports up to 1,024 clients).
