CPC Corporation - Customer Case Study

CPC Corporation, Taiwan’s leading state-run petroleum and natural gas enterprise, needed a high-performance POS solution for semi-outdoor gas station environments that could resist water, dust, shock and oil while preventing unauthorized employee access to customer data. Traditional POS systems were unsuitable, so CPC turned to Advantech for a fanless, ruggedized terminal that could operate reliably in harsh conditions.

Advantech recommended its ABox series—an ultra-compact, fanless box computer with an aluminum housing, the latest Intel processors and rich I/O for external monitor and keyboard connections—allowing units to be locked into checkout counters to protect databases. After extensive testing CPC adopted the ABox; the deployment delivered improved operational reliability and customer service, reduced mechanical-failure risk in semi-outdoor sites, and extended product life thanks to the ABox’s rugged, heat-dissipating design.
