Connecting up Intelligent Manufacturing with Qseven modules

China Manufacturing Company, a giant global manufacturer based mainly in China, needed to connect robots, tablets and other factory assets while meeting strict environmental ruggedness, rich I/O, low-power and small form-factor requirements as part of its Industry 4.0 automation push. They chose Advantech and its SOM-3567 Qseven system-on-module to serve as economical, robust control hosts and tablet display controllers for robot control and plant management.

Advantech implemented the SOM-3567 (Qseven), delivering diverse interfaces (LAN, USB, GbE), dual-display support (eDP/LVDS/HDMI/DP), 3D/video hardware acceleration and extended-temperature components, while keeping TDP within 8 W to enable fanless, low-power operation. The Advantech solution produced reliable, low-power control hosts that improved ruggedness and integration flexibility, reduced electricity and maintenance overhead, and helped accelerate the customer’s adoption of automated production.
