Chiwan Port - Customer Case Study

Chiwan Port, one of Shenzhen’s three major container terminals handling millions of TEU annually, faced operational bottlenecks from inefficient crane workflows, data omissions, and challenges in maintaining real-time communication between crane operators and the control center. To address these issues, Chiwan Port engaged Advantech and deployed Advantech DLoG’s DLT-V8312 vehicle-mounted terminals (20 units) as part of a zero-interruption crane improvement system.

Advantech’s solution mounted DLT-V8312 terminals on overhead cranes to enable uninterrupted wireless data exchange, real-time machine monitoring, immediate operator confirmations, and voice/manual task completion—streamlining scheduling, accountability, and paperless inspections. The rugged DLT-V8312s (IP66, IK-08, -30–50°C), with WLAN/WWAN/GPS, <1s Wi‑Fi roaming and integrated UPS (≈10 min), delivered measurable operational gains in crane efficiency, continuous data transmission, and easier system integration, optimizing port management and transport services for Chiwan Port.
