A Advantech Case Study
Chinese Medical Equipment Company needed a compact, low‑power nerve integrity monitor that still provided a wide variety of I/O, multiple power delivery options (battery and UPS), and strict I/O isolation for hospital safety and certification. They engaged Advantech to supply an x86 Pico‑ITX solution to satisfy the mobility, stability and safety requirements.
Advantech provided the MIO-3360 2.5" Pico‑ITX SBC (Intel Apollo Lake) — a 100 × 72 mm board with up to 8 GB DDR3L, Intel Pentium N4200/Celeron N3350/Atom E3900 options, flexible pin‑type I/O, mini‑PCIe/mSATA and a Yocto BSP for real‑time testing. Advantech’s design let the customer separate computing and I/O to implement required isolation, place I/O anywhere in the chassis, and meet size, power and safety targets while delivering reliable, real‑time performance for the nerve monitor.
