The Automotive Inspection and Verification Center operates two large vehicle testing grounds with numerous environmental chambers, cameras and dispersed test equipment, which made maintenance and management time‑consuming and manpower‑intensive. The center engaged Advantech to design an IoT‑based remote monitoring and control solution and to resolve questions about public vs. private cloud, device‑to‑cloud integration, suitable IoT software, and cross‑vendor compatibility.

Advantech implemented its edge‑to‑cloud WISE‑PaaS total solution — deploying WISE‑PaaS/EnSaaS, WISE‑PaaS/VideoCMS, WISE‑PaaS/RMM, EIS‑D150 edge servers and IoT.SENSE consulting — to provide live and historical video surveillance, centralized device status monitoring, remote control and alerting, and edge data preprocessing with 4G uplink. Advantech’s solution enabled remote access from desktop, tablet and mobile, reduced onsite maintenance effort and costs, accelerated the first‑phase rollout, and improved operational visibility and control across both testing sites.
