Advantech’s WISE Wireless Data Collection Solution Enables Reliable Device Monitoring and Remote Management

Suzhou Equipment Manufacturing Company, a supplier to 3C manufacturers including Asus, Quanta and Hon Hai (Foxconn), needed to add device-status monitoring and predictive maintenance to its screwing machines and ATE but was hindered by the high cost, long installation time, and complexity of wired PLC/DAQ and factory LAN deployments. To avoid disruptive rewiring and support rapid, flexible rollouts, the company turned to Advantech and its WISE wireless data collection solution.

Advantech deployed WISE‑4050 wireless IoT modules on machines, a WISE‑5121 industrial Wi‑Fi base station and an UNO‑2184G embedded industrial computer to collect, locally buffer and forward machine data into the factory MES/ERP and digital signage. The wireless system delivered stable transmissions (automatic retransmission and noise filtering), faster, lower‑cost installation and enabled remote monitoring and predictive maintenance; Advantech sold dozens of WISE units in less than six months and the customer plans to extend the solution to more equipment.
