A Advantech Case Study
Leegood Automation System Corporation was commissioned to implement a smart building management system for a large, well-known exhibition hall in southern Taiwan. The challenge was to integrate numerous heterogeneous subsystems (HVAC, lighting, fire protection, access control, security/CCTV, elevators, energy management, etc.) into a single upper-layer platform that supports Modbus/OPC/BACnet, browser-based graphics, backup/recovery, real-time displays, alarms and automated reporting to meet all eight criteria of Taiwan’s Intelligent Building Label. To address this, Leegood selected Advantech and its WebAccess platform.
Advantech provided the WebAccess browser-based HMI/SCADA and Super SCADA tools along with tag licenses (two 64K sets for main/redundant control, a 20K set for security, and 600 tags for tablet PCs) to enable rapid node upload, protocol drivers, video management and redundancy. Using Advantech WebAccess, Leegood consolidated all subsystems into a unified control interface with real-time video, alarm handling, historical analysis and automated reports, enabled remote browser access and failover redundancy, and helped the exhibition hall achieve the highest “Diamond” rating under Taiwan’s Intelligent Building Label — improving operational visibility, reliability, and centralized control.
